We Have Returned To Paradise

Hurricane season is just about over so we arrived at Paradise Village in Nuevo Vallarta (just North of Puerto Vallarta, MX) earlier this week to recommission Island Summers. The weather is extremely hot and humid (even the locals are complaining). It took 2 days to cool the inside of the boat running the a/c 24/7. For now we are going to leave it covered to help keep it cool.

This next week we will be having a boat survey and rigging inspection conducted as required by our insurance company to extend our cruising insurance to Panama. We are crossing our fingers the surveying team will not require the boat to be hauled out of the water. If so, it requires us to sail North to La Cruz where the marina has a crane to lift it out of the water and a work yard to store it during the survey. During this time, we will need to find another place to stay.

The survey team indicated today that if Kevin got some underwater pictures of the hull, rudders and propeller shaft those pictures may suffice. This means Kevin has to jump into the marina water with crocodiles nearby (we are moored in an estuary). Bev said she will be on croc watch! (Kevin thinks this means Bev will watch the crocodiles eat him!)
